Whitemarsh Township Has Given Approval To A Preliminary 2022 Budget
The preliminary budget, a final version of which will be voted on in December, shows no change in the current real estate tax rate.

WHITEMARSH, PA — Township supervisors last week gave an approval to a preliminary 2022 budget, a spending plan that would maintain the current tax rate for property owners.
The preliminary budget, which was OK'd during the supervisors' Nov. 4 meeting, projects revenues of $19.3 million and expenses of $19.5 million for the next fiscal year, according to the township.
The nearly $151,000 deficit would be closed prior to adoption of a final budget, township officials stated. Final approval is expected to be taken up by the board of supervisors during their Dec. 9 meeting.

On the spending side, the highest expenditure appears to be police services, with a projected $6.45 million earmarked for the local police department. The next highest expenditure would be employee benefits at $3.295 million.
The township's administration first presented the proposed spending plan to the board on Oct. 1, records show. It was then the subject of public workshops on Oct. 11 and 25 before it came to the supervisors for preliminary adoption last week.
