Whitemarsh Crash, Rescue Leads to DUI Charges, Police Say
A woman allegedly pushed aside emergency personnel while they used a saw to free her from her vehicle.

A Philadelphia woman is facing charges of DUI after a vehicle accident at Bethlehem Pike and Church Road just after 1 a.m. on April 7, according to Whitemarsh Township Police.
According to police, the Flourtown Fire Company responded to the scene to rescue May Ngo, 31, who was trapped inside her vehicle.

Ngo was not following directions to stay inside the vehicle, and she pushed past fire personnel while they used a saw to cut the windshield, police said.
According to a Springfield Township police officer, Ngo was seen on Bethlehem Pike headed north at a high rate of speed right before the crash.

Ngo was unsteady on her feet after the crash and had bloodshot eyes, according to police.
An off-duty police officer stopped to help Ngo, and she allegedly told him that she had three shots of alcohol earlier, police said.
Whitemarsh Ambulance transported Ngo to Abington Hospital, where she refused to give a blood draw, according to police.
