William Jeanes Library Looking for 'Green Jeanes' Volunteers
Three clean-up events are scheduled.

A group of volunteers are working in April to spruce up the grounds of the William Jeanes Library in Whitemarsh.
“The library’s three-acre grounds are about to come alive with spring-flowering shrubs ad trees,” says the library’s website. “But before that happens, there’s a bit of pruning and cleaning up that needs to take place.

The Green Jeanes, as the group is called, will meet April 7 from 1-3 p.m., April 16 from 10 a.m. to noon and April 26 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Green Jeanes will father fallen branches, dig and move perennials, prune wild grapevines, move small stones, turn soil for a native plant garden, and haul debris for removal by township crews, according to the library.

No special skills are needed to help with the cleanup; volunteers are asked to wear heavy-duty shoes and bring work gloves for hand protection.
