Woman Jailed After Stealing Soap from Giant, Police Say

A Plymouth Meeting woman is in Montgomery County Prison after she was arrested for allegedly stealing just under $25 in soap from the Giant on Ridge Pike in Whitemarsh, according to the Whitemarsh Township Police Department.

Kathleen Hagan, 54, of Fairfield Road in Plymouth Meeting, was arrested on April 23 around 4:45 p.m. after she purchased some items in the store and was the allegedly seen taking a DOC Deep Skin Cleaner, at a value of $23.84, without paying, according to police.

A Giant loss prevention specialist confronted Hagan outside of the store, where she allegedly dropped the skin cleaner, police said. Staff said that all of Hagan’s alleged actions were off camera.

A criminal history came back and stated that Hagan had two prior offenses for retail theft, and she was sent to county prison when she was unable to post $5,000 cash bail.
