1 Dead, 2 Injured In Pottstown Apartment Fire
One fatality and two injuries, including a firefighter, were reported in an apartment fire early Monday morning.
POTTSTOWN, PA — One person is dead and two people — including a firefighter — are injured after a house fire in Pottstown early Monday morning. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. inside some apartments in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, according to a WPVI report.
"When firefighters got here, there was fire throughout the second floor and first floor in the back," Chief Frank Hand said in the report. "They went in, made entry, but then the roof started to collapse so we had to pull our firefighters out."
When firefighters were able to get back in to the building they found a woman dead inside. Officials say another victim jumped from a window during the blaze, and was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment.
