'A Great Difference In The Lives Of Seniors'

Timberland and Meals on Wheels will partner for a fund-raiser to benefit Pottstown area seniors.

POTTSTOWN - The staff of Timberland at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets will partner with Family Services' Meals on Wheels program for a car wash and bake sale, with all proceeds benefiting Meals on Wheels.

"Timberland is a leader in corporate volunteering and service to the community," said Ruth Hood, case manager, Meals on Wheels. "Their generous support is making a great difference in the lives of seniors in the greater Pottstown area."

The car wash and bake sale will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Family Services' Pottstown Office, 1976 East High Street, Pottstown.

A donation of $5 per car is requested.

Each weekday, Family Services' Meals on Wheels program provides two meals, a hot lunch and a cold supper to refrigerate, to an average of 175 home bound elderly and disabled individuals in Pottstown, Royersford and the Lower Perkiomen Valley.

Community volunteers personally deliver over 81,000 meals a year, bringing nourishment, friendship and a kind word to those most in need.
