Devastating 3-Alarm Fire Battled At Old Pottstown Church
Firefighters from around the region descended on Pottstown early Friday morning.
POTTSTOWN, PA — A three alarm fire ripped through an old church in Pottstown early Friday, drawing a massive response from first responders throughout the region.
The blaze began at around 7 a.m. at a church Invictus Ministries, near the intersection of N. Hanover Street and Chestnut Street.
It is not yet known what sparked the blaze.

Two alarms were rang by 7:30 a.m. with a third alarm rang by a 8 a.m., marshaling additional resources to battle the fire. Several ladders were set up to attack it.
Invictus Ministries confirmed that the church involved was one of their properties.

"Family, please stay clear of the area and allow the firefighters and other first responders to do their jobs," the church shared in a statement. "Yes, the fire is at our old church building, but we have not been affected. We are praying for everyone involved and for the safety of all first responders.
Please keep the community in prayer."
There is no word yet on any injuries.
Photos from the scene showed flames shooting from the roof and upper stories of the church.
The Pottstown School District said that their bus routes and student commutes were impacted by the fire, and urged residents to avoid that side of town.
