The Gallery on High is proud to announce a brand new solo show opening in September.

Fairy Tales Do Come True features the work of local artist DiGi.

The show will run from Sept. 16 through Oct. 8 and can be viewed during the Gallery’s normal business hours: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tues. through Fri. and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat.

Visitors are invited to the opening of this amazing show from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16.

DiGi has a Bachelor of Science in economics and finance and has acquired many computer graphics and foreign language certificates.

She was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve where she acted as a Russian interrogator.

She works for Vertis Communications in computer graphics as a pre-media specialist primarily working as a Photoshop re-toucher and color corrections expert.

She splits her spare time between creating works of art and teaching Middle Eastern dance at local high schools and Freedom Valley YMCA.

She has traveled across the U. S., Europe and Russia extensively.

She enjoys working in mixed media including watercolor, colored inks, colored pencil, Russian lacquer-style art, bead embroidery, bead weaving and tapestries.

Her works have won many Best of Show and First Place awards including Grand Prize for her hand-painted ornaments at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. -- where they were exhibited during the Christmas season.

Her works also have been featured in major periodicals such as Family Circle, Delaware Today, ArtSpeak, and many other local publications.

The Gallery School of Pottstown is a 501c3 non-profit community art school and gallery. The mission of the Gallery School of Pottstown is to enrich the lives of the residents in the greater Pottstown area through the visual arts, regardless of ethnicity and economic situations. Our goal is to spark creativity, build self-confidence and develop community bonds through education, mentoring and community service. The School offers day, evening and weekend classes to all ages. The goal of these classes is to help students develop their creative skills through self-expression and independence. The Gallery on High hosts rotating shows featuring local artists. The Gallery also sells handcrafted, one-of-a-kind gift items.
