Five Things You Need To Know Today

Mark your calendars for several upcoming Pottstown events.

• The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at Comfort Inn, 99 Robinson Street and at Burger King, 1515 E. High Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10. Learn more here. 

• The eighth Annual Carousel of Flavor Restaurant Festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 18 on the 100 Block of High Street in Pottstown. The event will feature an expanded wine and beer garden, three live bands and more. Learn more at The Carousel At Pottstown website

• The First Annual Pottstown Pet Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at Pottstown's Smith Family Plaza. Spaces are available at no charge to rescue or non-profit groups. To learn more or reserve a spot, e-mail bsharon@pottstown.org.

• Pottstown Animal Control Rabies Vaccinations for cats, dogs and ferrets -- leashed or in an approved carrier -- will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 24 at Pottstown Roller Mills, 625 Industrial Highway. The event will be held in conjunction with the Montgomery County Health Dept. Cost is $10. To learn more, call 610-278-5117.

• The 3rd Annual National Kidney Foundation Motorcycle Run will be held Aug. 27 at 13 W. Armond Hammer Blvd., Pottstown. Registration is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and the ride leaves at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per rider, $15 per passenger and $10 park walk-in.
