It's Spring Break! Now, What Should We Do With the Kids?
A few ideas to survive the days off with the kids around Easter weekend 2013.

Pottstown School District may have lost a few days of its spring break due to weather-related closures (does Hurricane Sandy ring any bells?), but that doesn't mean it can make for a REAL long weekend stuck in the house.
The weather report looks rather sunny with temperatures in the 50s and even up to 60, so perhaps Cabin Fever will be the least of the worries. But after a few glorious minutes of playing in the yard, you're likely to hear the words every parent dreads: "I'm bored."
If you are out of the age groups that can survive a long weekend of bubbles, sidewalk chalk and hop-scotch, there are some great places to take the kids for some weekend entertainment.

If you seek some indoor fun, Monkey Joe's is located at 84 Glocker Way in Pottstown. The playland is a great place to burn off that extra energy. Inflatable bouncing for just $10 a child (adults are free) is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. over the long weekend. The location, however, is closed on Easter Sunday.
Between egg hunts, bunnies, and baskets, maybe a dip in the pool is in order. While the weather is to be warm, it is still the season to swim indoors. The Pottstown YMCA, located at 724 N. Adams St., offers annual memberships or program memberships. Guests can also purchase a day pass or come as a guest of a member.

If you are seeking some fresh air instead, and if Mother Nature cooperates, why not hit up one of Pottstown's many parks? Memorial Park is known for its sports facilities, including base- and softball fields, tennis and hockey courts and basketball courts, in addition to plenty of space for picnics in 78-acres of open space. Let the kids enjoy some time on the outdoor playground, while you sit back and enjoy the sunshine.
For a full lists of parks in the area, visit the website here. You can find the park that is right for you, whether you seek to hike, picnic, playground, exercise or just sit back and enjoy a park bench. Memorial Park is located at King and Manatawny streets in Pottstown.
