Lower Pottsgrove Man Sentenced for Abusing 4 Month Old Son

Jacob Govinda Zlomek, 26, was sentenced to two-and-a-half to five years in state prison and 12 years of probation for the repeated abuse of his 17-week-old son.

A Lower Pottsgrove man has been sentenced to two-and-a-half to five years in state prison for the repeated abuse of his 17-week-old son, who sustained a total of eight fractures to his skull, ribs, shoulder, forearm and leg during a short period in 2011.

According to a report by Carl Hessler of the Pottstown Mercury, Jacob Govinda Zlomek, 26, received the sentence after pleading guilty to numerous counts of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. The report states that the injuries were all in varying stages of healing, which indicates that the abuse happened on multiple occasions.

In addition to the prison sentence, Zlomek was ordered to serve 12 years of probation, and he must complete parenting and anger management classes. Once released from prison, Zlomek is only allowed to have supervised contact with his son, according to the report.
