• Business Tax Credit Funding Approved for Pottstown Library (travelswiththepost.com) — Pottstown Regional Public Library has been approved to receive Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit donations, giving local businesses a way to earn state tax credits while funding children’s summer reading and STEAM programs. The library, which serves Pottstown and nearby townships, hopes to expand hands-on learning, workshops, and youth services as EITC contributions and individual donations come in.
   

• Pottstown loses rental inspection lawsuit (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Pottstown’s rental inspection system just changed dramatically after a state court ruled the borough’s use of “administrative warrants” for routine rental inspections violates the Pennsylvania Constitution. Landlords must still be licensed and properties kept up to code, but inspectors now need tenant or owner consent or a traditional probable-cause warrant, while the borough weighs a possible appeal and promises more guidance soon.
   

• Mercury Roundup (Dec. 11): Perkiomen Valley girls basketball edges Spring-Ford for 11th straight win over Rams (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Pottstown’s boys and girls basketball teams both stayed hot Thursday, each rolling to their third straight win in PAC Frontier play over Upper Perkiomen. The roundup also highlights strong performances from neighboring schools in basketball and swimming, giving local fans a quick look at how area rivals like Perkiomen Valley, Phoenixville, and Pottsgrove are shaping up early this winter season.
