Pottstown Man Accepts Plea Deal in Burglary, Cocaine Charges

Local man will serve one-and-a-half to three years for crimes.

He accepted a plea bargain to reduce his sentance, but will still serve one-and-a-half to three years in a state correctional facility for burglary and cocaine sales.

Steven Mitchell, 19, of the 500 block of Chestnut Street, was sentenced Monday in Montgomery County Court after he pleaded guilty to felony charges of burglary and possession with intent to deliver cocaine in connection with separate incidents that occurred between March and April 2012, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

President Judge William J. Furber Jr. ordered Mitchell to complete two years’ probation and 36 hours of community service as part of the sentence as well as $2,200 in restitution in connection with the burglary charge from Dino's Groceries. He also noted Mitchel could reduce his term to 13-and-a-half months if he completes a prison treatment and counseling program.
