Pottstown's Hazardous Waste And Books For A Buck

The Pottstown area will host a variety of events this weekend.

 

• Sponsored by the Chester County Solid Waste Authority, the ChesCo Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held 9 a.m. May 19 at 981 Ridge Road in Pottstown. Acceptable items include oil-based paints, outdoor, automotive and household products. Smoke detectors may be put in the trash. Electronics will not be accepted. For a complete list of acceptable products, visit www.chestercountyswa.org. Proof of Residency may be required.

• The Friends of the Back Door Book Sale will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18 and 9 a.m. to noon May 19. The event will include thousands of books priced $1 or less. To learn more, call 610-970-6551.

• The , 724 North Adams Street, invites folks ages 60 and older to participate in the 2012 Y Senior Health and Fitness Week, May 21-27. The free event offers older adults the opportunity to try scheduled classes in aquatics, weight training, yoga, Nordic Walking, aerobics and arthritis swim.
