State Roads Closed Due to Irene

The Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation advises drivers state roads may be closed or restricted in Southeastern Pennsylvania because of flood cleanup, road damage and downed trees and power lines caused by Hurricane Irene.

The following are the road closings in PennDOT Engineering District 6, which includes Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties: 

• Bucks County

Route 32 between Aquetong Rd. & Windy Bush Rd. in Solebury Twp. and New Hope.

Route 32 between Laurel Rd. and Upper York Rd. in Solebury Twp. 
 
Route 32 between Cafferty Rd. and Dark Hollow Rd. in Tinicum Twp. 
 
Neshaminy St. between Route 513 and Lincoln Highway in Hulmeville, Middletown Twp. and Penndel.

Creek Rd between Street Rd. and Lenape Rd. in Birmingham Twp. 
 
Foster Road between Green Lane Road and Yellow Springs Road in Charlestown Twp.

• Montgomery County

Water St. between Mill Rd. and Skippack Creek Rd. in Skippack Twp. 

Washington Ln. between Welsh Rd. and Terwood Rd. in Lower Moreland Twp. 
 
Morris Rd. between Penllyn Blue Bell Pk. & Plymouth Rd. in Whitpain Twp.  

PennDOT said all 38 state bridges in the five-county Philadelphia region that were closed following Hurricane Irene have reopened following inspections by bridge inspectors.

PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511Route.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out.
