UPDATE: West Pottsgrove Theater to Reopen at 2 p.m. Following Bomb Threat

Following the Friday morning evacuation of the Carmike 12, the theater will reopen its doors at 2 p.m.

UPDATE: The scene has been cleared, and theater employees have gone back into the building. A manager from the Carmike 12 told reporters at the scene that the theater will reopen their doors at 2 p.m., and all previously scheduled movies will be shown at their scheduled times.

Police left the scene without addressing the media.

12:57 p.m. A Patch reporter on the scene stated that some of the canine units were wrapping up their search, and an officer from the North Coventry Police Department approached reporters on the scene stating that someone from the West Pottsgrove PD would be speaking shortly.

12:51 p.m. The Pottstown Mercury is reporting that Terell Mayton, the director of marketing for Carmike Cinemas, has confirmed that they received a nationwide threat from a person who claimed to represent one of Carmike's vendors. 

12:34 p.m. The reporter on scene said that the Chester County canine units have begun to search the outside of the building, while canine units from North Coventry and Septa Transit Police have begun to search the interior.

The Carmike 12 movie theater in West Pottsgrove has been evacuated following a bomb threat on Friday morning.

Multiple police and EMS units responded to the threat shortly after 11 a.m., and the parking lot remains blocked off at this time. A reporter on the scene observed police studying blueprints for the building, and canine units from the North Coventry Police Department and Chester County have arrived on the scene.

According to a report by the Pottstown Mercury, the local bomb threat is a part of a nationwide threat to Carmike theaters, who were preparing for the first showing of "The Expendables 2" later today.
