Conestoga Road Tunnel Lit With LED Lights

The Conestoga Road tunnel LED lighting project is completed, Radnor Township announced.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — The Conestoga Road tunnel is illumed up with LED lighting, a township project just finished that meets PennDOT requirements.

The Radnor Township Engineering Department announced the completion of the Conestoga Road Tunnel Lighting Safety Project. The new lighting improves safety for motorists using the tunnel and was designed per Pennsylvania Department of Transportation specifications.

The project entailed replacing with LED lights two metal halide lights that no longer met tunnel lighting requirements. The LED array has two settings: one for daytime driving and one for nighttime drivers, the township reported. Photos of the lights in the tunnel can be seen here.

This safety project is just one of many the township's engineering department has in various stages of design or construction.

The mission of the Engineering Department is to furnish professional expertise to various Township Boards, Commissioners, Township Manager, and other departments as necessary for those Boards and Departments to fulfill their charge under the Township's Home Rule Charter.
