Fathers of Children with Asperger’s Invited to 'Dinner with Dads'

Meet National Journal Editorial Director Ron Fournier, who has written about his perspectives on accepting and understanding his son's Asperger's syndrome.

Hill Top Preparatory School is inviting fathers from around the region to a “Dinner with Dads” on Thursday, October 24.

National Journal Editorial Director Ron Fournier, who has written about his perspectives on accepting and understanding his son’s Asperger’s syndrome, will be on hand to share his experiences and learn more from the dads in attendance about what having a child with learning differences has meant in their lives.

The event, open to fathers of Hill Top students as well as dads from other schools in the Philadelphia region, begins with a “meet and greet” at 6 p.m., with dinner and Fournier’s presentation to follow.

He will take a book leave starting in August 2014 to research and write. His goal is to layer his son Tyler's story with social science research, as well as other kid to parent stories; and write a memoir that helps all moms and dads -- not just those of special needs kids -- navigate the modern-day challenges of parenthood.
