Raise Funds & Hope for Local Nonprofit with National Impact on Families in Medical Crisis

On Sunday, May 19, 2024, individuals will gather to run, walk, roll, or ride at the Radnor Corporate Center to support the Radnor-based medical fundraising nonprofit Help Hope Live. Registrants can participate in the inclusive Hope Travels 5K run or 1-mile fun run/walk in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Participants will include local patients impacted by Help Hope Live’s mission, staff and board members, and student volunteers from local schools, including Malvern Prep, Conestoga High School, Notre Dame Academy, Paul VI in Haddonfield, and Episcopal Academy. A virtual option is also available for the nonprofit’s national community of supporters. All participants have an opportunity to raise funds for the nonprofit.

“My transplant experience would have been vastly different if I had not found Help Hope Live,” explained Linda Jara, a Philadelphia resident who received a heart transplant in 2016 with help from the nonprofit. “I will be able to show the power of community support in action by participating in Hope Travels this year in-person and sharing Help Hope Live’s mission.”

About Help Hope Live
Help Hope Live (www.helphopelive.org) supports community-based fundraising for people with unmet medical expenses and related costs due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses. Every year, we make sure thousands of families across the nation have access to life-saving medical care and equipment.
Help Hope Live was founded in 1983 by a Philadelphia heart transplant surgeon and his wife, a nurse, to help patients fund lifesaving transplants. Over the past 40 years, thanks to donors and supporters, the nonprofit’s mission has expanded to serve a diverse patient community: patients in all 50 states and Puerto Rico living with diagnoses ranging from COVID-19 and cancer to traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and chronic illnesses.
As executive director Kelly L. Green explains, “Faced with impossible decisions, such as whether to buy food or pay for medical care, thousands of families turn to Help Hope Live for assistance. Since 1983, we have been their lifeline: a secure and compassionate resource for trusted medical fundraising, and the only organization of its kind.”
Funds raised through donations and event participation not only sustain the nonprofit’s fundraising support but also enable special initiatives that impact local families, from emergency needs grants to adaptive bike giveaways to children living with disabilities.
Campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $181 million to pay patient expenses.
