LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion Township Police Department is hiring, and qualified hopefuls can apply now through mid-March.
Applications for the probationary police officer position are being accepted until noon on March 15, 2026.
The starting salary ranges from $83,242 to $93,317 upon Act 120 completion, and after five years the salary increases to $132,606. Act 120 certification is not necessary to submit applications.

The department is also offering a $5,000 signing bonus.
Applications are available online here, as well as in person at the front counter of the Lower Merion Police Station, 71 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

Written and physical agility tests will be administered the weekend of March 21, 2026, at the Harriton High School cafeteria and track, 600 N. Ithan Ave. in Rosemont. Start times will be determined based on the number of sessions needed to accommodate all applicants. Applicants will be notified via email of start times after March 15, 2026.
No college credits are required to apply, and applicants will not pay an application fee.
