Investigation Of Armed Man On Villanova Campus Is Ongoing: Police

Villanova has lifted a shelter-in-place order while police are searching for an armed man who was reportedly on campus last night.

VILLANOVA, PA—Radnor police on Wednesday continued to investigate a report Tuesday night of a man threatening a SEPTA train conductor with a gun and running onto the Villanova University campus.

Radnor police said there is no threat to the University or Radnor community at this time.

The university has lifted a shelter-in-place order that was set at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday out of an abundance of caution.

Police last night responded to a fight involving a man with a weapon on Villanova's campus at Aldwyn Lane.

The actor was described as a Black male wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, black boots, and a black winter hat.

According to Radnor police:

  • During the altercation, the actor displayed a firearm.
  • The actor fled on foot across the Villanova University pedestrian bridge.
  • Radnor police, assisted by Villanova University, SEPTA, and Haverford police departments surveyed neighboring streets and campus extensively with negative results.
