Man Passed Out Behind The Wheel Had Drugs And Stolen Gun: Radnor Cops

RADNOR, PA — A man passed out behind the wheel of his running car Oct. 12 is behind bars facing a slew of drug and weapon charges, Radnor police said Thursday.

Shajir Goins, 32, of Philadelphia is in the George Hill Correctional Facility in Glen Mills in lieu of $100,000 awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of intending to deliver prescription drugs, drunken driving, and possessing a stolen weapon.

Officer Nicholas DeMayo said he spotted a car stopped in the middle of South Aberdeen Avenue in the Wayne section of Radnor Township at 5:47 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.

The officer said Goins, who was sleeping behind the wheel of his running vehicle, was taken into custody at the Radnor police station.

Police said they found plastic bags hidden on Goins’ body containing pills, a large amount of suspected crack cocaine, 150 Suboxone films, and suspected marijuana. Suboxone films are a prescription drug that consists of thin films to put under the tongue to treat opioid addiction.

After completing a search of his vehicle, police said they also found 300 pills, more THC products, and a 9mm stolen handgun.
