RADNOR, PA — Radnor Township students lit up the district's administration building to cheer on the high school football team as the team practices for its longtime rivalry against Lower Merion.

The Radnor Raptors are gearing up to compete against the Lower Merion Aces at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, on Prevost Field on King of Prussia Road.

The longtime rivalry between the two Main Line school districts began in 1897.

The rivalry is among the longest consecutively played public school football rivalries in the nation, according to RadnorFootballHistory.com.

After missing 1901 and 1905, for lack of players and illness, Radnor and Lower Merion met on the gridiron for the next 117 years.

The rivalry is traditionally the last game of the season.
