Wayne Art Center Director Nancy Campbell told Patch the Expressions of Radnor exhibition launched in 2001 as part of the township's centennial celebration.
Back then, the township was not in its new building at 301 Iven Ave. in Wayne, and showing the submitted pieces in the old building was not ideal, she said.
Wayne Art Center officials decided to keep the exhibition going to highlight local artists annually.

The Wayne Art Center is also hosting two other exhibitions during the Expressions of Radnor exhibition.
One is "Inspired From Life – Paintings by Dori Spector." Dori Spector is a Radnor artist whose pieces are being displayed in the Wayne Art Center's Vidinghoff Gallery.
Spector’s work has earned recognition in many local and national shows and is represented by galleries throughout the United States and in public and private collections including Moore College of Art, The Mandarin Hotel in New York and the estate of Hope Montgomery Scott.
The other is "The Pursuit of Painting Through Mark Making – Stefanie Lieberman & Students." Stefanie Lieberman is a Wayne Art Center teacher. The exhibition will feature her work as well as about 50 of her students' work. See a full list of artists whose work will be displayed online here. This exhibition will be in the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery.
Lieberman is an award-winning landscape, still life and animal painter and graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. An instructor at Wayne Art Center as well as Woodmere Art Museum and Whitemarsh Art Center, Lieberman has been teaching and guiding students as they pursue their individual artistic expression for nearly 20 years.
Her work has been featured in such publications as American Art Collector, Atlanta Style & Design, and Fine Art Connoisseur. Her paintings are found in many private and public collections including the Rome Council of the Arts in Georgia, the Museum of American Art in Delaware and Crozer Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
A reception open to the public for all three exhibitions will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 23, with awards and gallery talks celebrating all three exhibitions.
The Wayne Art Center is located at 413 Maplewood Ave. in Wayne. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
