Radnor School District Ranks First In The Nation: Teach Simple Study

The district also ranked first in Pennsylvania in the 2024 Niche rankings of public schools.

RADNOR, PA —Radnor Township ranked first in a national study of public schools conducted by TeachSimple, a company focused on providing solutions to improve learning and teaching.

TeachSimple, based in Beaverton, Ore., analyzed reviews and ratings of each school district in the U.S. and ranked them.

The Radnor district consists of a high school, middle school, and three elementary schools. It has 3,601 students.

The ranking was based on reports from Niche, an educational platform based in Pittsburgh, that also rated the district Number 1 of 496 public school districts in the most recent survey.

The TeachSimple study also looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education and Labor Statistics.

The TeachSimple report shows that Radnor has a student-teacher ratio of 14:1, and the average annual teacher wage in the district is $101,804, according to Phillipa Collins of Journo Research, representing TeachSimple.

The district receives an average of $26,584 per student, and the majority of this is used for teaching and instruction materials.

In comparison, the national average expense per student is $12,239.

“Radnor Township School District’s recognition by TeachSimple reflects our commitment to academic excellence and educational achievement.

"This distinction underscores the district's dedication to providing high-quality education for our students. We are proud of our students and staff and thank our community for their continued support.”

The TeachSimple study concluded that districts with more funding can have programs that support families and schools to give their students the best chance in life. With after-school programs in place, teaching children sports or arts can lead to a more well-rounded student.

A Radnor junior wrote in the Niche review on May 14, 2022: "I have lived in Radnor Township my entire life. The district fosters a strong, but competitive academic, social, and athletic environment."

The Niche study showed the graduation rate at 97 percent, with an average SAT score of 1350 out of 1600.

The popular college choices for Radnor students are Penn State, the University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, New York University, Carnegie Mellon University, Northeastern University, Boston University,

and the University of Michigan.
