Radnor's Great American Backyard Campout Is Saturday
The event was initially scheduled for May 31, but Mother Nature had other plans. Now, the family, friendly event will be held this weekend.
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Radnor Township's Great American Backyard Campout was sidelined by inclement weather in late May. But, now the even it on for Saturday in The Willows Park.

Campers should bring their own gear and supplies to set up under the stars and enjoy a night outside with family. Those in need of camping gear can find discounted rental rates online here.

Campers must be accompanied by parents or guardians, and children are to be supervised by parents or guardians at all times.
Activities will include, camp cooking and fire making demonstrations, fishing, orienteering mini course, s'mores, observing the night sky with telescopes, and more.

A full activity schedule is below.
Below are guidelines for the event:
- Cars are to be parked in the Willows Cottage lot or upper lot overnight, not picnic parking areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are permitted at the event.
- Tables must not be moved.
- Music, excessive noise, and dumping are prohibited, as is cutting, mutilating, removing or taking any trees, shrubs, flowers, or plants
- Fires are to be built only in grills. Areas around grills and picnic tables must be clean at all times. All fires are to be extinguished at dusk.
- Refuse and rubbish are to be placed in the on-site containers.
- Dishwashing in the handwashing station is prohibited.
- Removal of, or defacing a sign, poster, building, or other property is prohibited.
- Fishing in Radnor Township ponds is restricted to children 15 years and younger, as well as senior citizens.

- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Beekeeping Information Session, Picnic Grove
- 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. — Nature Scavenger Hunt*, Picnic Grove
- 4:30 p.m to 6:15 p.m. — Creek Walk*, Picnic Grove
- 5 p.m. — Campcraft Activities, Campfire Location
- 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Orienteering Education Session and Mini Course, Picnic Grove
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Learning About and Trying Slackline, Picnic Grove
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Field Games, Field Below Willows Mansion
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Knot Tying Skills Station, Field Below Willows Mansion
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Tick ID Safety, Picnic Grove
- 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 — Eagle Project Hike – Scavenger Hunt, Picnic Grove
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Fishing Activity & Demonstration, Willows Pond
- 6:30 to 7 p.m. — Nature BINGO! Hike*, Picnic Grove
- 7:20 — S’mores - Campfire Location
- 7:30 to 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — Twilight Treasure Hunt*, Picnic Grove
- 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Flag Ceremony & Ceremonial Campfire Program, Campfire Location
- 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. — Viewing of the Night Sky w/telescopes, Astronomy Location
- 10:30 p.m. — Lights Out
- 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday —Wake-Up/Depart from Park
