Reward Offered for Help to Find Dog Abuser

The Delaware County SPCA received a $1,500 donation to help locate the person responsible for embedding a shackle into a dog's neck.

The Delaware County SPCA wants to find the person responsible for what has been called a “horrific case of animal cruelty.”

A donation has allowed the Delco SPCA to offer a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who left an emaciated dog with a shackle embedded in its neck on the side of the road in Darby.

The dog, named Trooper, was found by police last Thursday on the 400 block of Poplar Street and taken to the SPCA for care. Delaware County SPCA’s Director of Shelter Medicine, Dr. Kim Boudwin, performed surgery to remove the shackle from the eight-to-10 month old dog.
