Running for Local Office

Meet the Winners

If you’re interested in running for local office, the League of Women Voters of Delaware County has a panel of elected officials who can give you winning tips. From mayor to council member and school board director to commissioner, former candidates will tell you just what it’s like to toss your hat into the political ring.

Our panel includes elected officials who have come up through the ranks as well as those who have found a niche on the school board or local board of commissioners. Joining us will be Radnor Commissioner Jake Abel (R), Representative Lisa Borowski (D) County Council Member Christine Reuther (D) former City Council member and mayoral candidate David Oh (R), the Mayor of Rutledge Gamal Sherif (D), and Garnet Valley School Board Member Rob Hayes (D). They’ll share tips about such topics as campaigning, public speaking, fundraising, networking, budgeting, and media. A question and answer period will conclude the session.

This in-person event, the final in our Running for Office series, will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 7:00 p.m. at The Inn at Swarthmore. This program will not be recorded to prompt candid questions and responses. Attendance is limited, materials will be distributed, and there is a $35.00 fee. Register at LWV Delaware County.
