School Board Approves Prelim $92.4 Million Budget
The proposed budget includes a 1.9 percent tax increase for the 2015-2016 school year.

A 5-4 vote by the Radnor School Board this week approved the preliminary 2015-2016 budget with operating costs at $92.4 million, according to Main Line Media News.
Once the final adoption is approved by the board, the budget will enact a 1.9 percent tax increase for Radnor residents, equaling an extra $109 for the average township homeowner. The budget also include using $7.5 million from the fund balance to make up the deficit, according to the report.
The vote was split among the party lines, as board directors debated the heavy use of the fund balance as the district looks at more projected deficits in the coming years. Members directed Radnor Business Manager Michelle Diekow to continue trimming, suggesting an extra $1.8 million cut from expenses would make the budget more responsible.
