Senior Living Center Approved In Radnor
The township commissioners this week approved a project for a senior living center on a tract along South Bryn Mawr Avenue.

RADNOR, PA—Radnor Township commissioners Monday night unanimously approved an agreement that paves the way for a senior center to be built on a 34.49-acre tract at 270 S. Bryn Mawr Ave.
The Jewish Federation of Philadelphia plans to build a senior facility with 149 units, 79 for independent living, 46 for personal memory care, and 24 for memory care. Parking will be located in an underground garage.
A timetable for the completion of the project was not provided.

The federation owns the land, which also includes the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, Judith Creed Horizons for Achieving Independence, Cheder Chabad School and Harcum College.
The agreement was reached to settle an appeal in Delaware County Court of a township zoning decision to reject the federation proposal for several reasons. The plan was revised to address some of the issues and then approved Monday.

Moira Mulroney, board president, said she supports the project, noting the Jewish Federation is a great neighbor.
“There is a need in our community to have some senior living,” she said.
Commissioner Seana Farhy said the plan fits with the existing buildings.
The Proclamation Presbyterian Church, located adjacent to the campus, has supported the application, David Falcone, a lawyer representing the federation, said. Falcone said the project includes stormwater improvements, a rain garden, and a pedestrian connection to SEPTA.
Falcone said the new building is estimated to add an additional $19,504 in annual tax revenue.
In addition, Falcone said the federation has worked with the Radnor Fire Department on a plan for emergency evacuations.
