Wayne Turkey Trot Thanksgiving 5K Benefitting 3 Area Organizations

This year's race will benefit Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the Radnor Township Police K-9 Unit and Philadelphia Financial Scholars.

WAYNE, PA — The Eighth Annual Wayne Turkey Trot is all set for Thanksgiving morning, and the race will benefit three organizations in the region.

Runners can sign up for the 5K race now.

Registration costs $30 for adults 18 and older, $20 for students, and kids 5 and under can participate for free.

Sign up online here before midnight Nov. 28. Same-day registration costs an extra $5 and starts at 6:30 a.m.

Registration includes a knit hat. Race packet pick-up will take place on-site from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

The race is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

This year's run will benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the Radnor Township Police K-9 Unit and Philadelphia Financial Scholars.

Onyx, a member of the Radnor Township Police K-9 Unit, will be running in the race with his handler Officer Brett Greaves, too.

Last year's event raised $30,000.

Presented by FS Investments, the race will begin and end outside the Great American Pub, 4 West Ave. in Wayne. Check out the full racecourse online here.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male-identified, female-identified and non-binary identified finishers.

Participants and guests are encouraged to stay for a post-race celebration at the Great American Pub.

For those interested in participating virtually, walkers and runners can take part in the Wayne Turkey Trot 5K Thanksgiving morning through 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1.
