Brian Kennedy is accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife on March 28, 2019 at a Wawa in Radnor Township.

Assistant District Attorney Matt DeNucci countered in his opening statement that Kennedy purchased an AR-15 rifle 12 days earlier and left a note for his son explaining his actions.
“Never in my life have I seen a more hateful and cowardly act that took the life of a beautiful woman,” the prosecutor said.
According to court records, Kennedy and Miller divorced in 2013.
The prosecutor said that Miller felt safe picking up her son at the Wawa because it was a public place.
Surveillance video at the store showed Kennedy opening fire, shooting Miller in the head and chest.
Employees at the Wawa testified the shooting stunned them. The employees identified Kennedy as the shooter.
Kennedy was arrested several hours later in Thornbury Park.
The trial is expected to continue throughout the remainder of the week.
