The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) announced the appointment of Elizabeth (Beth) Monroe as its new Executive Director. A strategic and results-oriented professional with extensive experience in fundraising, marketing, and nonprofit leadership, Monroe has developed and executed fundraising initiatives, managed donor relations, and led teams to achieve significant gains in both community engagement and funding.

“WRCs mission and accomplishments really hit home for me,” said Monroe. “It’s all too easy to imagine myself or a friend or relative in need of the support that WRC provides. My career has been driven by a passion for social services and meeting community needs. I am thrilled to lead WRC staff, volunteers and clients through this next chapter as we continue to empower women and build bright futures.”
Monroe joins from the Delaware River Mill Society — which manages and secures funding for the upkeep and restoration of the historic Prallsville Mill complex in Stockton, NJ — where she served as Executive Director since 2016. During that time, Monroe led the organization through a period of significant growth, maintaining operational and fiscal accountability while driving impactful capital improvement projects, even through public closure during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising and Marketing, Monroe is relocating to Conshohocken, PA in the coming months.
“Beth’s energy and enthusiasm for our cause combined with her experience leading organizations through challenges and culminating in growth, made her the perfect choice to guide us through this pivot to our next 50 years,” said WRC Board President Nadia Gallagher. “The Board and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish for our clients together.”

WRC extends special thanks to talent acquisition and HR consulting firm The O’Connor Group for conducting the strategic and thorough search for WRC’s new executive director, and to the hiring committee made up of Board Members Bridgett Battles, Patti Conlan Kym Johnson, Diane McCammon, and Meghan Popoleo. The efforts of interim co-directors Mojdeh Keykhah and Kai Qualls and the rest of the staff were also critical to WRCs continued success over the past few months.
For more than 45 years, the Women’s Resource Center has helped women and girls in the five counties of southeastern Pennsylvania successfully navigate life’s transitions and inspire others to do the same. By providing resources, tools, and support for today, we create hope for tomorrow.
