• Sharon Rook, 69, Of Kane (solomonswords.net) — Ridgway natives may remember Sharon Rook, born here in 1956, who has passed away at 69 while living in Kane. She leaves behind her husband Michael, two daughters, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a large extended family; services will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
   

• Two charged in Jefferson County burglary after DNA found on cigarette (wtaj.com) — A Ridgway man and a Reynoldsville woman are charged in connection with a Jefferson County garage burglary after investigators linked DNA from a cigarette butt to both suspects. State police say multiple stolen items were recovered from a relative’s home, and both individuals now face felony burglary and theft counts tied to incidents across Jefferson County.
