$9,000 Necklace Stolen, Police Say

Theft: On March 20, at approximately 1:15 p.m., police received a report of a theft at the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Store located at 7146 Ridge Ave.  According to police, a store employee saw a man place a bottle of merlot wine in his jacket pocket.  When the man was approached by the employee, the man put the bottle in a cart and fled, leaving the bottle behind, police say.

Theft: On March 14, at approximately 9 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 7300 block of Ridge Avenue.  According to police, thieves stole two necklaces from a residence in that block.  Police value one of the necklaces at more than $9,000 and the other at $200.
