Almost a Mile Worth of Copper Wire Stolen, Police Say

5,000 feet of wire is stolen from a construction site in the 8800 block of Ridge Avenue.

A man told police that every time workers leave a construction site in the 8800 block of Ridge Avenue things go missing--this time it was 5,000 feet of copper wire.

The man is building homes in the area, and he told police that sometime between 12 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 some one took a spool of #10 copper wiring from the job site.

Police said that the wire was worth an estimated $2,000.
