Annual Cook-Wissahickon Run For Literacy Set For May 20

Proceeds will go towards new technology and the school's campaign to go green and transform the school's campus.

WISSAHICKON, PHILADELPHIA – The Fifth Annual Cook-Wissahickon Run For Literacy 5K is all set for May 20 and your participation will help the get new technology in classrooms, as well as the school's campaign to go green and transform the school's campus.

The run will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 20 at Cook-Wissahickon School, 201 E Salaignac St., Philadelphia.

Pre registration is available online until 5 p.m. May 18. Should you miss the online registration deadline, you can still sign up on race day at 8 a.m.

Online registration costs $25 for adults and $10 for youth runner 18 years old and younger.

Registration fees jump the $30 for adults who register on race day.

Additionally, adults who register with youth runners can sign up for just $20.

Participants can also register by mail with the downloadable form found here.

Runners under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to participate. Also, runners under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

The run's start and finish will be at the school, and will go through the neighborhood. The course is not closed and participants will be on running on city streets and sidewalks.

Runners will be clocked with pull-tab timing.

Not a runner? No worries, as the day will also feature a course for walkers and will not be timed.

This run will take place rain or shine.
