Kelly Drive Closing For Independence Day Regatta This Weekend
Kelly Drive motorists will be detoured around the area from Friday morning to Sunday night, according to Philadelphia Police.
PHILADELPHIA — The Independence Day Regatta is set to be held this weekend on the Schuylkill River and that means closures and detours on Kelly Drive, Philadelphia Police said.
The regatta is being held Friday, June 28; Saturday, June 29; and Sunday, June 30.
Starting at 6 a.m. Friday, Kelly Drive will be closed between Strawberry Mansion and Fountain Green drives.

Kelly Drive will remain closed until about 8 p.m. Sunday, June 30.
Only Independence Day Regatta participants and equipment, with regatta passes, will be allowed entry into the regatta zone on Kelly Drive.

Drivers heading inbound, toward center city, will be detoured south up the Strawberry Mansion Drive Ramp to Reservoir Drive, south on Reservoir Drive to Fountain Green Drive, west on Fountain Green Drive back to Kelly Drive.
Those heading outbound, toward Roxborough, will be detoured east on Fountain Green Drive to Reservoir Drive, north on Reservoir Drive to Strawberry Mansion Drive Ramp, north down the Strawberry Mansion Drive Ramp and back to Kelly Drive.
Detour signs will be posted throughout the detour.
Delays are to be expected, police said.
