Kelly Drive Closing Overnight In 2 Sections, PennDOT Says

PHILADELPHIA — Kelly Drive in Philadelphia will be closed in two sections for a week and a half due to resurfacing and repair work on the busy road, PennDOT said.

The closures will be in place weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Kelly Drive will be closed in two sections.

One closure will be between Ridge Avenue and Fountain Green Drive.

During the closure, southbound Kelly Drive motorists will be directed to use Ridge Avenue, 33rd Street/U.S. 13, Diamond Drive, Reservoir Drive, and Fountain Green Drive. Northbound Kelly Drive motorists will be directed to use Fountain Green Drive, Reservoir Drive, Diamond Drive, 33rd Street/U.S. 13, and Ridge Avenue.

The other section closing is between Reservoir Drive/Strawberry Mansion Drive and 25th Street.

During this closure, southbound Kelly Drive motorists will be directed to use Reservoir Drive/Strawberry Mansion, Diamond Drive, 33rd Street, Girard Avenue, 29th Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, and 25th Street to access Kelly Drive. Northbound Kelly Drive motorists will be directed to use 25th Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, 27th Street, Girard Avenue, 33rd Street, Diamond Drive, and Reservoir Drive to access Kelly Drive.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur.
