Lane Closing On Interstate 76 In Overnight This Week

Lanes on east and westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 South and Spring Garden/Haverford Avenue interchanges will close overnight this week.

PHILADELPHIA — This week, a lane will close overnight on portions of Interstate 76 in Philadelphia due to resurfacing work, PennDOT said.

Monday through Friday this week, a lane closure will be in place on sections of eastbound and westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 South (Exit 339) and Spring Garden/Haverford Avenue (Exit 343) interchanges.

The lane will close from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following morning.

This work is part of a $36.8 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and 23 bridges in Philadelphia.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur.
