Main Street Manayunk Hosting 1-Mile Race

Pre-registration is open for the Manayunk Mile, a 1-mile footrace on Main Street scheduled for May 16, with the finish line posted at the PLAY Manayunk Festival in front of the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center.

Part of the 5280 race series organized by Pattison Sports Group, the race begins on Main Street just East of Shurs Lane. Runners will head east towards Green Lane, make a U-turn just before Green and head back down Main Street to Lock Street, where they will turn right for the finish on Venice Island.

The 5280 Race Series is designed to provide runners the chance to beat their personal best on some of the most popular main streets in the Philadelphia region. In addition to the Manayunk Mile, the 5280 Race Series will also host a mile race down “main street” in Media on May 9.

The finish line celebration will include live performances and a day full of outdoor recreation activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking and much more.

The kids mile begins at 8 a.m., with the adults taking the course at 8:30 am. Registration costs $20 before May 1 and $25 after May 1.
