Man Dies After Being Hit By SEPTA Train In East Falls
A man died after being struck by a Manayunk/Norristown Line train Thursday morning in East Falls, according to SEPTA officials.
EAST FALLS, PHILADELPHIA — A person died after being hit by a Manayunk/Norristown Line SEPTA train Thursday morning in the East Falls area.
The fatal strike happened just before 8 a.m. along the tracks on the 3700 block of West Schoolhouse Lane, between the East Falls and Wissahickon stations, according to SEPTA
The man, who was not identified, was struck by an inbound train as he was crossing the tracks in that area.

He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Shuttle buses took about 300 passengers on the train into Center City as the line was suspended due to the emergency response.

This is the second fatal SEPTA train strike in less than a day's time, as a person was fatally struck by a Media/Wawa Line train at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Delaware County.
