Manayunk Fitness Center Wants to Break Sit-Up Record
Never Give Up Training needs volunteers to register for its attempt to break the Guiness World Record for most simultaneous sit-ups.
If you are still feeling the effects from Manayunk’s Restaurant Week, a fitness center in town has the perfect remedy to get your body back in shape.
Never Give Up Training, located on Cresson Street in Manayunk, has put the call out for volunteers to register for its plans to attempt breaking the Guiness World Record for most simultaneous sit-ups.
The current world record stands at 414, and the organizers for the May 16 attempt thinks it can be broken. Anybody looking to tone those abs and make some history can register with the gym and meet at the Venice Island Performing Arts & Recreation Center at 1 p.m.

The stunt will be just one of the recreational activities planned for the May 16 PLAY Manayunk, a day dedicated to health, fitness and the outdoors. The annual festival begins with the Manayunk Mile at 8 a.m., which will have a finish line set up at Venice Island and leading into the main event. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be full range of activity on land and in the water to get the body moving and blood flowing.
