Manayunk Prepares for Weekend StrEAT Festival

The outdoor event kicks off the annual Restaurant Week in Manayunk.

In just a few days, Manayunk’s Main Street will be lined with dozens of food trucks and vendors offering up a huge selection of specialty food for the hundreds of hungry visitors to the annual StrEAT Food Festival.

The eagerly anticipated celebration begins April 12 at 11 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m., helping the kick off for Manayunk’s Restaurant Week.

Guests can browse along historic Main Street and take a taste of everything from savory BBQ to sweet desserts from more than 40 of Philadelphia’s best food trucks, purchase homemade oils, spices, and jams from the gourmet food vendors, and stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables at the farm stand. This year, dishes will highlight the spring ingredient, strawberries.

Main Street will be closed to traffic for the festival, allowing pedestrians full access to shop at other local businesses offering sidewalk sales and promotions. There will also be live music, a kid-friendly zone hosted by Destination Schuylkill River at Canal View Park, featuring a moon bounce, face painting, Twister, sidewalk chalk, and more. For visitors 21 and older, there will be a beer garden on Cotton Street with samples of some of the area’s best beer.

Restaurant Week will run through Friday, April 24, with participating locations serving three course meals, which will be offered at $15, $25, and $35 price ranges.
