Daywalt was from Phoenixville but had been living homeless in Philadelphia at the time of his death, according to police. His mother told CBS News he had mental health challenges but was a kind person who loved nature.

Daywalt was found in the river near near Kelly Drive and Midvale Avenue back on Feb. 7, at around 10:17 a.m.

The gunshot wound was found by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office just below his right ear, and they determined his manner of death to be homicide.

Police said Daywalt, who also went by the name Michael Hall, was known to frequent the Manayunk area, particularly near the Green Lane Bridge at Main Street and Green Lane.

A preliminary hearing for Rosson is forthcoming.
