Nighttime Lane Restrictions Start Saturday on I-76 in Philadelphia
Construction crews will resurface the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway between Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue.

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 76 east between the Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia, starting Saturday night, June 6, for resurfacing of the expressway, PennDOT announced.
The work schedule on I-76 east is:
- From 9 p.m. Saturday, June 6 to 7 a.m. Sunday, June 7; and
- From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, June 7 through Wednesday June 10.
PennDOT advises drivers to use an alternate route or allow additional time for travel on I-76 east near the construction area because backups will occur. The operation is dependent on the weather.

The work on I-76 is part of a $2 million project to resurface 10 locations across the region with a high-friction surface treatment to provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.
DeAngelo Brothers, Inc. of Hazleton, Pa. is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
