Phillies Value Increases Despite Pandemic: Forbes
Forbes said the Phillies worth went up despite a shortened season and the lack of any fans in the stands during 2020.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — Despite playing a shortened schedule with no fans in attendance at Citizens Bank Park, the Philadelphia Phillies value increased two percent in the past year, according to Forbes. The team is valued at $2.05 billion.
That ranks the Phillies eighth out of Major League Baseball's 30 teams. The New York Yankees are the most valuable franchise with a worth of $5.2 billion.
Although most teams lost revenue last year, Forbes said that did not prevent team values from increasing to an all-time-high average of $1.9 billion. That's a 3 percent increase over a year ago.
