Philly.com: Charges Filed Against Girlfriend in Manayunk Wall Accident
DUI, assault charges issued after car runs over boyfriend.
An East Falls resident was charged with DUI and aggravated assault following an incident where on Sept. 2, she allegedly ran over her boyfriend, who was trying to push the car up the Manayunk Wall, Philly.com reports.
Mary Opel, 19, of Ridge Avenue near Heritage Drive, allegedly was steering a vehicle while her boyfriend, whose name was not released, attempted to push the car up the famed stretch along Levering Street—a part of the annual Philadelphia International Cycling Championship.
Police told Philly.com that the car rolled back over the man, and he was dragged 25 to 30 feet down the steep incline. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and was in critical condition.

It was believed that a party was being thrown at the boyfriend's house in Manayunk. It is unknown if he was intoxicated.
