Popular Chesco Cheesesteak Spot Coming To Manayunk

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — One of the most popular suburban cheesesteak spots is coming to Manayunk.

Lorenzo's Steaks in West Chester is opening its second location, Lorenzo’s Pizza, Steaks & Hoagies, at 114 Levering St. in Manayunk, the former home of Franzone's Pizzeria and Zaboli's Pizza.

Manager Anna Zoubroulis told Patch Thursday the Lorenzo's team — led by owners Antonio Coppola, Angelo Coppola, Antonio Nilli, Giovanni Nilli — is aiming for the last Monday in January, or the possibly first Monday in February, as the opening date.

She said fans of Lorenzo's in West Chester can expect the same quality offerings in Manayunk.

But in addition to steaks, hoagies, parm sandwiches, burgers, and more available in West Chester, Zoubroulis said the new outpost will be serving up pizza.

And Zoubroulis said a some new, exciting things will be hitting the menu in both Manayunk and West Chester.

"We've been talking about it for a while, and Manayunk seemed like the place to do it," she said. "We're excited to try this out."

She said people have been calling up the original West Chester location asking when the Manayunk spot will be open for business.

And that comes as no surprise. Lorenzo's was tapped as having the best cheesesteak around in Main Line Today's "Best of the Main Line" in 2024. MyChesco.com also listed Lorenzo's as having the best steaks and the best hoagies in Chester County in 2021 and 2020, respectively.

"People come from out of state to us," Zoubroulis said, recalling customers driving from Maryland and Delaware to try their food.

The new location will likely be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m., she said.

Customers can order in house, over the phone, through the website, and via delivery platforms including DoorDash, Slice, and Grubhub.

As the opening date approaches, Lorenzo's will begin hiring staff for the Manayunk location. Zoubroulis said information on jobs will be shared on the new location's Facebook and Instagram pages.

"Hopefully people love us in Manayunk as much as they love us in Chester County," she said.
