Road Rage Incident Leads to Pulled Gun, Police Say
A man also thwarts a burglary attempt.

Burglary: On April 29, at approximately 12:05 p.m., police received a report of an attempted burglary in the 5900 block of Henry Avenue. According to police, a man was sitting in his home when he heard through the door someone say, “Don’t leave the package. Ain’t nobody home.” The police said that the man watched through his peephole as two men cut the lockbox on his doorknob and attempted to gain entrance to his home. The man opened the front door, police said, and then the two men grabbed a duffle bag and ran away to their vehicle.
Aggravated Assault: On April 22, at approximately 8 p.m., police received a report of an assault near the intersection of Roxborough and Dexter streets. According to police, a man was double parked in front of a home in the 3800 block of Manayunk Avenue when another vehicle drove by quickly and someone yelled out the window for the double-parked car to get out of the way. The driver of the double-parked car got back into his car and headed north on Manayunk Avenue, police said. The driver then encountered the other driver who had yelled at him standing on the street. According to police, the two men got into a verbal argument that resulted in the driver of the double-parked car exiting his vehicle and chasing the other man to the 200 block of Roxborough Avenue near Dexter Street. At this point, police said that the man pulled a handgun on the driver of the double-parked car. One of the driver’s friends grabbed him and took him back to his vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Theft: On April 15, police received a report of a theft at Riggs Distler located at the intersection of Main Street and Cotton Street at approximately 7 a.m. According to police, an unknown person cut the padlock off one of the storage containers and stole several items including bare copper, color copper and six rolls of copper wire. Police valued the stolen items at $7,550.
